Field Engineer : Kathmandu Based

ChildFund Japan is an international non-profit development organization which has a legal entity in Nepal and has been working for children in Sindhupalchowk and Ramechhap districts in partnership with local NGOs. It is looking for a competent Nepalese citizen for the following positions.

Field Engineer - (1) post, Kathmandu based 

General Objectives of this position: 

Responsible for the day to day supervision of repair/restoration and reconstruction of school building and allied works. Will prepare estimates for construction project, examine samples of construction materials, test to confirm the quality and will verify contractor's work for compliance with design, drawing and BoQ. Liaise with various stakeholders on technical issues and support in solving problems and generating solutions in the field. Responsible to report to the management about the progress/issues of projects supported by ChildFund Japan.

Required qualification: 

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 2 years professional experience in construction supervision of earthquake resilient buildings.
• Work experience from private sector engineering / construction firms will be an advantage.
• Work experience based in remote field locations will be given priority. 
• Experience in repair / retrofitting will be an advantage.
